I would have to echo adrianpym and say “great colors” but only in my American way without the “U”. This picture almost wants me to forget about Spring and run back to fall…notice I said almost….I am soaking in Spring fever now! That does not take away from that perfect autumn pic! Nice work.

Thank you, Nancy. I thought it would be nice to reflect on that other brightly-colored time of year as we’re watching the new-greening of Spring. I’m rather suffering with the Spring-fever, myself, anxious to get out into the green canyons and mountains…but still have to wait for the depths of snow to melt. Thank you for your nice words. 🙂

Gorgeous image. I love autumn. I love the way it smells, and everything about it. This image makes me feel as though I have taken a vacation into the future and the past all at once, into a silent pathway where all you can hear is the soft sound of leaves falling, and squirrels scampering through the rustling debris. Great image!!!

Truly magical catch. From what I remember of your territory, it wasn’t always so easy to catch the reds. This is one you could hang on a wall and not become bored with after awhile. It just wants to take you up that lovely path into some lovely dreams.

A wooded path with speed bumps … LOL … now, I’ve seen it all. I suspect the cross members are to minimize errosion, in reality, are they not? Eitherway, it is a beautiful path and it looks like it would be a dynamite riding path. 🙂

Yes, Marcy…the wooded path with speed-bumps…used for erosion control. 🙂 And this trail is actually restricted to foot traffic only. It is beautiful, but it becomes too narrow, too steep, and too traveled with hikers to be safe to have bikes there.

My first thought was the mountain-bikers, Marcy, as we have many trails where they are a common sight…and this one might be rather rough for horses, too. Maybe not at this particular point, but it does get very steep and the trail is often boulder-hopping at times, too, in addition to being very narrow, even for someone of my size, let alone a horse. It’s a very pretty thought, though…would make a nice image, too. 🙂

Scott, I am very tardy in adding my comments to this beautiful work, but hope that it won’t diminish my enthusiasm. I would love to walk this path–at any season, under any weather conditions, and at any time of day when there’s enough light to see anything. Where is it? Do you get there often?

A comment like this could never be tardy, Gary…thank you. I have walked it in the heat of summer, cool greening of spring, with the brilliant colors of fall, and under near a foot of snow…and in the rain, besides…it is beautiful…and just down the road…. I’ve left the house with a full cup of coffee and not finished it before getting to the parking lot/trailhead for the trail, it is that close. I think it would be fair to say, too, that I have been there about a dozen times in the last 18-20 months. It is the trail that leads up to the Bells Canyon waterfalls, if you’ve seen any of my posts about them. Just east of Sandy, Utah, in the Wasatch Mountains. Here’s a link to my post “Faces of the Falls,” in which I have pictures from six visits to the falls during different months of the year. It’s one of my favorite places.

You are very fortunate indeed to have settled in a place where wonders like this are at your doorstep. I’ve been to your area only once, when my brother was interning there, many years ago. We hiked on the edge of some of the salt flats and up a trail on Alta, and I can still well remember the beauty. I’m really enjoying what you’re sharing. Keep it up!

I agree with you, Gary; I feel very fortunate to live here with all of this at my doorstep. I haven’t been out to the salt flats, but have been up to Alta a few times…and many places in-between. I’m glad you’re enjoying the photos…and I’ll keep posting them for you. 🙂
