City Paint 7 – Salt Lake Running Company

I pass this business every afternoon on my way home from work.  It was one of the inspiring murals that prompted me to start this City Paint series…a local business that used street-art type advertising on the side of their building.  You can check-out the Salt Lake Running Company’s website by clicking on their name, if you’re interested…otherwise, I hope you enjoy their building art.

  2. I love the colours, but mostly the scale. I couldn’t work out in my head how big they were, until I went back and saw the first one. Amazing.

    • Yes, they are rather large, Leanne…and I couldn’t get the whole thing in one frame, as there was a freeway off-ramp that prevented my circling around to do so. Amazing, indeed…thank you. 🙂

    • Thank you, Ginny…and yes, they are very talented. If you’ve missed the other City Paint posts in the series, you can go to the categories widget and click on Street-Art/Graffiti to see the earlier ones. I think you might enjoy them. 🙂

  4. Wishing I could actually watch them put all that intricate stuff together…. is it strictly spray paint, or what? Thanks for taking us there.

    • I believe it is all spray-paint, Gunta…I haven’t had the fortune of accidentally finding them actually painting them yet, so I can only guess. And you’re welcome for the trip. 🙂

These are good close-up shots so I can see! 😉 Smart idea to have advertising that people actually look at. What’s the progress on our other mural? Let me see if I’ve missed it.

    • It was hard to get a wide angle shot of the whole thing by the Running Company, as the back of the property was right up against a freeway off-ramp…and I didn’t want to be dodging traffic to cross the lanes to get into the median. And yes, it is very smart of them to use this type of art for their advertising. I visited the other mural from “City Paint 6.1 – Becoming” again this morning and they have made significant progress again…I believe they will probably be finishing it over the week…so I’ll get there next Saturday, as well. I’ll be posting today’s progress-shots in a couple of days, so you haven’t missed anything. 🙂
