Park bench….

For those of you having an unseasonably warm summer, I offer you an unseasonably cool place to sit and relax…to while-away your lunch hour…to rest after your evening walk….  🙂

  1. Much more impressed with the huge tree trunk in the back . . . unless that’s a miniature bench.

    • Yes, the tree trunk is huge…likely dating back to when Liberty Park was established in the 1880s…gigantic cottonwoods line the center walk-way of the park…and it’s a “normal” bench…. 🙂

  2. Really lovely photograph Scott! 🙂

    • I’m glad you enjoyed it, Chillbrook…seems like everyone is not ready for snow, though…and some haven’t even gotten warm enough yet to cool down…so it’s just a nice shot. Thank you. 🙂

  3. So nice of you to offer, but I think I’ll pass on the snow… But it’s so sweet of you to try to cool us all off.

    July 28, 2012 at 11:21 am

    • Yeah, try to help out a bit. I thought you might pass on it. 🙂

Although I’m not ready for it yet, I know it will be beautiful when the snow comes to join us again…but first will come the changing of the colors and the smells of autumn…because we have seasons here in Utah. Love it! 🙂

    • Yes, it will be beautiful when it gets here, Nathan…just offering a little taste amid our high 90s weather….

  5. We’ve had three scorching days and now the weather has cooled down a bit. Thanks for the offer, but unseasonably cool weather has been all too common in the UK. But I have heard the weather has been abominably hot in parts of the USA.

    • And this coming from a man who just returned from the Swiss Alps. 🙂 I’m glad you’re back Andy…thank you for being here.

  7. Victoria

Great photo. Can’t believe how big those trees are.
It’s very chilly Down Under this week though – may I please have a ‘warming’ photo.

    July 28, 2012 at 9:28 pm

    • They are rather huge trees, Victoria…still mesmerizing when I go to the park…just want to stand and stare at them….beautiful. And yes, I suppose you are in the middle of winter Down Under…will get some bright sunny shots for you. 🙂

Resembles our early Spring before the the Change started messing about with the seasonal norms. Excellent composition.

    • I think the shot was from March or April “down” here. Thank you, Elmediat.

  10. Great shot and sepia, Scott…… though in Scotland we are still awaiting the summer, so your trial photos are much appreciated.

    • Thank you, John…and yes, I suppose the season’s warmth has been a bit delayed for you and yours. Hope you’re not getting too soggy over there….

  12. A bit of that snow and cool weather would be a welcome break right now. Great photo.

    July 29, 2012 at 6:35 pm

    • Yes, it would, Fergiemoto…thank you.

  13. We don’t get snow here, but that is how it is feeling for us. Very cold.

    July 31, 2012 at 10:46 pm

    • That’s too bad that you don’t get the snow to accompany the cold temperatures…the beautiful white stuff adds so much to the season…I think. 🙂
