    • Another feather on my cap, and your pun fits the bill as well. One might say we are avian fun.

  7. Goose or duck, to see them going around, in private homes in the yard , is a sight to behold, and a novelty!

  12. We don’t have many places here where we can get that close to waterfowl, so you’re lucky!

    August 16, 2012 at 6:00 pm

    • In New Hampshire, really? No bodies of water nearby? I would have thought otherwise….

      August 17, 2012 at 7:17 am

      • Plenty of bodies of water everywhere you look, but no ducks and very few geese.I think they all hang out on the Connecticut river between NH and Vermont. I don’t get there very often.

        August 17, 2012 at 8:04 am

        • Oh…that’s not very nice of them, is it? πŸ™‚

  13. Do I see a brown mutt or is that a female mallard? I love to watch these birds. We had mallards in our lake and in our neighborhood for a very long time. I don’t know what happened to them. The used to sleep behind the shrubbery at my daughter’s house and waddle along the neighborhood grumbling all day.

    August 17, 2012 at 1:31 pm

    • I believe that is a female mallard, George, as I often see “couples” scooting over the pond together. How nice it would be to have them nesting in your yard. πŸ™‚
