Oh, my … what a fairy tale scene! Such soft, wonderful colors too. I love this photograph! ๐ The contrasts in your photos of the forest are breathtaking. The conifers among the lighter leaves provide a kind of natural anchor or balance or something. I assume the lighter leaves are maples or some broad leaf deciduous tree. Just keep on snapping until the last leaf falls, Scott! These make me smile. ๐

Yes, dear George…like a fairy tale scene…still strikes me as unreal sometimes…so that’s a good description. And yes, there are some split-leaf maple in there…along with other deciduous trees, and the conifers, of course. I’m glad you enjoyed the post, George…glad it made you smile. ๐

I love this scene. Having just returned from a very long walk in France, I can truly appreciate the idea of following a trail through a fairy tale landscape. Thanks, Scott. ๐

Welcome back…I was wondering when you’d make it home again. I hope you’ll share some photos of the trails in your fairy tale landscape…. I’m glad you liked the scene…and you’re most welcome, Robert.

This reminded me of a shot from “A Family of Man” (probably before your time.) There’s just something so sweet about kids exploring out in the wild. Very nice shot.

I don’t remember/know it, Gunta…but it sounds like it would be wonderful if that’s what the kids were doing. Thank you. ๐

A fairy tale image as was mentioned in an earlier comment. The processing is well handled, Scott.. There’s a painterly effect there that is so apt. Great shot.

This setting does add a lot to the making of such memories…I have great recollections of being in similar places as a child…usually alone or with other friends, but they are core memories of happiness and belonging…. Thank you, Cath…I appreciate your comment.
