From looking at a map of the area, I want to say that the draw (the “V” area just above the fence-posts) is either Pole Canyon or Four Mile Canyon…but I’m not certain….. This was taken facing north from Cedar Fort Road…out in Utah County…a bit north of Eagle Mountain.

Scott's Place...Images and Words
I simply love this shot. It takes me back decades. Unfortunately I’ve never been good at picking out or naming particular features without something to anchor them to or which direction you’re facing. I suppose it’s one of the things I loved about this valley… that it was pretty much surrounded by views of these magnificent mountains. Still plenty of snow up in the higher elevations. There were many years when the snow on the peaks never entirely disappeared through the summer. Just seeing that snow helped a little to make it through the blistering heat in the valleys.

How nice that you love it, Gunta…I’m very happy that I could share it with you. And I do love the mountains, too… and am still fascinated by the remaining snow when the calendar says that it should be summer.

I can’t imagine having a view like that all the time. I don’t think I’d ever get bored with it.

That’s a really beautiful vista, Scott. The dusting of snow etches the shape and curves of the mountain range perfectly. The bands of colour from the base up: green, yellow, purplish brown all contribute to this composition.
