  1. Beautiful! Looks like the wheat fields may have been sprouting. Hope you’re enjoying your visits to my old haunts. I surely do miss looking out over that expanse to the mountains in the background.

    • This is from April, Gunta, so I’m not sure what was sprouting yet or not…haven’t made it back in a while, but I did enjoy my time in your old haunts…the mountains and rolling hills are very inviting, especially when the early morning’s light touches everything just right. 🙂

  2. So serene. It takes a special sensitivity to isolate a selection of the whole like this and enable contemplation of just that part that caught your eye. You certainly have this gift, and it’s a delight to behold.

    • You’re very kind, Gary…thank you for your words….and yes, it was so serene out there…and it’s so easy to lose track of time while out exploring, too. 🙂

    • And it was just sitting out there, right off the road, waiting for someone to stop and look….

    • And hopefully the morning’s sun would rise no further so that the magical time would endure….. 🙂

      • It would, it does endure, in the heart…

          • shanti, shanti Scott – likely we will head out your way later this month, perhaps some time at Escalante. Maybe you have some suggestions of places to visit in that area?

            August 6, 2013 at 2:24 pm

          • Hello, Kai – I’m quite fond of the red rock area near Kanab…there seem to be so many photo opportunities just waiting for a camera to come along. And then there are Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks nearby…I haven’t been through them yet, but I know they’re gorgeous. If you’re coming up from Arizona, be aware that Highway 89 had a huge road collapse a bit south of Page so there will be a detour and a bit of a longer drive. The collapse happened last year and the experts say that there’s no way to repair it…. Do have a safe journey…and I’ll look forward to your photos of Utah. 🙂

  11. This is handled perfectly – you let the shapes speak for themselves, and they really do. One could just gaze & gaze & gaze on this….

    • It was one of those surprises I found in my camera when I returned home and downloaded the pictures….cropped a little bit afterwards, of course…but still…a very nice surprise. Thank you, Lynn.
