Lake Florence in the Morning

You might remember the lake from last year when I did the posts on the Sister Lakes of the Wasatch Mountains.  You can click on “Sister Lakes – Lake Florence” to learn more about this lake.  The earlier post also has links to the other Sister Lakes if you’re interested in the more complete history of the area.

  2. Such serene tranquility. Easy to see what draws you up there. Lucky us that you bring these images back to show us.

    • That’s exactly what it is, Gunta, serene tranquility…and very much part of the allure. And I’m very happy to bring them back to share with you. 🙂

  3. Nicely framed shot, Scott. Is the hill in the background black or is it the prevailing light that makes it look so dark? If it is black, what type of rock is it?

    • Thank you, Finn….and that bit of rocky hillside is very much a darker gray. I don’t even know where to begin to tell you what kind of rock it is, either, I’m sorry to say. We have quite an assortment of rock in our canyons here…from granite and quartz to sandstone, slate, basalt, and who knows what else…it all depends on which layer happens to be exposed at the particular location. Maybe I should look into it…. 🙂

    Nice photo, Scott.
It’s nice to see the lake reflecting the green trees (as well as the blue sky).

  7. I too like the framing: it feels one is taking the first peep into a little piece of Paradise. This looks a beautifully peaceful place for a sunny day’s walk. Lovely image, Scott
