come walk with me

on a sunday morning

feel the crisp air on your face and the warming sun on your back as we follow the trail off and into the waiting mountains

turn around and marvel at the white bark glowing in the sunrise

winter-bare aspen preparing for the cold

the rich greenery of summer’s forest floor has turned golden and brown and looks bleak without the morning’s sun

but we are here with the waking day

rejoicing at the trail beneath our feet and the burning in our legs and lungs as we press ever upward from valley floor to mountain top

come walk with me and sing our quiet sunday song

mountain trail on a Fall morning

    • I would hope so, Emilio…I’ve seen a lot of other wildlife out here, still need to check that one off of my list…. And they’d probably be deterred by a shot of bear-mace, too, if they got too frisky…after I made a picture or two of them, that is…..

      • Frisky is not the problem . . . arrowy is what you have to worry about.

  13. Exquisite. Your have created an image that reminds me of an oil painting more than a photograph. I like it, a lot.

  15. Glorious shot, Scott. It looks so peaceful and quiet – it seems almost wrong to intrude, but I would definitely want to see round the next curve, and then the one after that and so on.

    November 8, 2013 at 2:18 am

    • Thank you, Andy…I was alone for very much of the hike…only encountered one other person on the trail that morning…and it was very peaceful. I paused often to absorb it all….
