interstate sunrise

Visiting with Adrian at Cornwall Photographic this morning and seeing his image from Porthnanven reminded me of a very different scene that was graced with a very similar sunrise.  I made this image along the interstate freeway somewhere in the middle of Utah in January, 2012.

  3. You’d never see that here-too many trees in the way.

    • Well, yeah…we see this expanse of plains when we look to the west from the Rockies, otherwise, we see lots of trees, too…and mountains.

  4. Scott, it’s always interesting to make those connections, isn’t it? And I like to see what connections other people make, so it’s good you posted the link. One’s dry, one’s wet, but both have such a sense of place and the grandeur of the moment.

    • It was an immediate reaction, Lynn…I saw Adrian’s photo and that line of sunrise colors and thought of this scene…so yes, I think those connections are very interesting…and fun to share, too, when they involve our blog-friends’ work.

Is that frost on the grass, too? Lovely!

    • I don’t recall it being frosty out there, LB, but given that it was January and before the sun was fully up, it’s quite possible.

  7. The two images of the skyline are pretty much identical, sure enough. Such lovely, softness. I don’t much like the blazing orange sunlight ones, but I love this quiet, peaceful sunrise.
