This is the perfect example of what I’m saying. When you look at this photograph, the mountin range appears to float over the line of trees and vegetation. The lake looks for the world like sky. The realization that is is a lake surprises and delights. The mountain range looks like the landscape on another planet. The entire image is fantastical, surreal, soft and somehow comforting, even in its barrenness.

Another really strong, floating image. The sky is uninterrupted in this one.

The comment about the floating landscape was supposed to post under the photograph with the patch of bright blue sky above it. UGH! I do this all the time!

I was actually quite pleased when I got home and found this one on the card. Sometimes what I think I see out there doesn’t quite make it on the camera, but this one was better than what I thought. There was so much, that day, that was surreal, that just didn’t seem to belong in or on this world…but I treasured being out there with all of it. Thank you, again, for being here, George. 🙂
