  1. Is that one of them LotR signal towers atop that mountain?

Very nice photo, by the way.

    • Hmm…I don’t think so, Emilio….but I haven’t been up there yet, so it might be……and thank you. 🙂

  4. Way too lovely for words. You just gotta know how much I love this scene and your capture of it. Those snow capped peaks are simply delicious. Pity the snow doesn’t stay away from the valley floor or I might still be there. But then I’m forgetting the wicked hot summers. 😉
Your images stir a longing that my rational brain has to kick in and remind me of the reasons we left Utah.

    • Thank you, Gunta…and yes, I would have imagined that it’s a scene you’d be rather fond of….your mountains, and all. And yes, don’t forget those wicked hot summers can get in the way of enjoying things. I’m very glad you enjoyed the image….. 🙂

  5. The name of the mountains is as soft as the photo – lovely – so often, snowy mountains are severe-looking. And that delicate light…

    • It was a fortunate moment to get that light, Lynn. I just HAD to stop the truck and make the photo…much too good to drive away from the view.

  6. A reminder of winter – just about over, we hope – but somehow this image doesn’t feel cold, there is an inviting feeling to it all. It’s all in the tones I think. Nice one, Scott.

    • Thank you, Andy….and yes, we hope. I think it’s a beautiful season, but I’m ready for some rich green about now. 🙂

  8. That shaft of sunlight couldn’t have been better positioned or timed. Wonderful picture Scott.

By the way, what does ‘Oquirrh’ mean?

    April 1, 2014 at 2:54 pm

    • It was an excellent, and highly fortuitous moment to have a camera at hand, Finn…thank you. And depending on which translation one might employ, or prefer, Oquirrh is a Goshute Indian word meaning something like “wooded mountain,” “wooded area,” or “wooded sitting.”

  10. I find this image of your’s, Scott, leaves me with a very optimistic feeling. It’s warm, which is the opposite of the reality, like two well formed breasts…..oops, sorry…..I promise to start taking the tablets again.

    • Oh, don’t mind the tablets, John….. 🙂
