morning flight

Unless it’s a particularly windy day, this is a common sight during my morning walks in the desert area of north Phoenix.

  3. Such a beautiful sight. The first time I saw one of these up close was out in the fields near Cedar Fort… you know the area. The are astonishing to watch. I’ve never had an opportunity to go up in one.

    • I love watching them, too, Gunta. One of them actually landed in the neighborhood a couple of mornings earlier…when I didn’t have my camera with me on my walk. I’ve only been up once, and that was probably ten or more years ago. Maybe again someday…. πŸ™‚

    • One of the benefits of living outside of the larger city here…with so much “empty” desert for them to land in nearby.

    • I’ve been up once before, John, (a Christmas present from one of my sons) and it was quite fascinating…not scary in the least, somehow…and yes, the view was fabulous. πŸ™‚

  6. Lovely photograph Scott. I think we’ve talked before about how nice such a balloon trip would be. I’ve going to be attending a balloon festival in a couple of weeks so I’ll be looking forward to some good photography!

    • Thank you, Adrian…and yes, we have talked about it a couple of times. I hope you’ll have a good time at the festival…and I’ll be looking forward to your photos! πŸ™‚

  7. I see them as I’m heading up to Lincoln on my way to work, on the other side of the mountains.

    • I enjoy seeing them out there…but, probably like you, I’d rather be up there with them than heading to work. πŸ˜‰
