A view from Marshall Lake, Arizona

A last reward after a long hike in northern Arizona…a view of the San Francisco Peaks from the shore of Marshall Lake (marsh) in the Coconino National Forest, just south and east of Flagstaff.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in that cabin in the distance….?

  2. Clouds, mountains, trees and even sometimes a lake (?)… what could possibly be better?

  3. At first glance, it looked like the hike to get here was considerably less strenuous than is the case for your usual presentation, but then I read your text. Yes, apparently, appearances were once again deceiving!

    • Yes, Gary…this was a short drive from the trailhead…after the 13+ mile hike. A sweet reward. 🙂

    • They can be gorgeous up north, Lynn…and it was about 150 miles from the house, so I can’t do this every weekend…but it’s a pleasure when I do get out there…have to make it worth the drive. 🙂

      • That’s a lot of driving, but well worth it sometimes. Then you get to that borderline distance where it may or may not involve an overnight. We need four day work weeks, right?

        • Yes, it is a lot of driving, Lynn…the prohibitive part of exploration and hiking in this new/old desert “home” of mine…..

And yes, too, four day work weeks or independent wealth would be wonderful for our rambling souls, wouldn’t they?! 🙂
