  2. Very beautiful! The rhythm of light and dark in this composition just makes me want to keep on looking. My eye is drawn back to the evergreens in the background, and they have an uplift and grace to them.

    • Thank you, Lynn…I have visited this place so many times that the views are engraved upon my heart…along with the sounds and smells…the light at the various times of day and year…..

Very scenic, Scott. Maybe the first snow of the season. A view upstream with steep elevations only 200 yds. in the distance. Open water, not yet frozen; cold, wet water… Brrr. A challenging, yet beautiful environment, probably a place and time to remember… which you did. Memories remembered with a photo! Cool!

  7. Another world to me too Scott, that is incredible. Do you ever get back there for photos?

    November 14, 2016 at 4:25 pm

    • So very different from the deserts and big cities of our everyday lives, Leanne…..and no, I have not been back since leaving over two years ago….

  8. It looks very ‘Narnia-like’ to me! Would make a wonderful Christmas card, Scott.

    November 15, 2016 at 2:18 am

    • Thank you, Meanderer…it does have a touch of Narnia, doesn’t it?

And yes, I’ve considered Christmas cards, as well…just haven’t gotten there yet. 🙂

  9. Meandered beat me to it. My first thought was what a beautiful greeting card it would make! Very gorgeous shot. How come you hadn’t posted it before? (Or does my memory really suck that bad?)

    • Thank you, dear Gunta…I have gone so far as to research the card printing, etc., just haven’t taken the final steps in processing everything else to make it happen. And actually, I believe I did post another image of the same spot that had a more complete snow coverage…and looked more “Christmasy….” several years ago. 😉

  10. I just love the muted tonal range in this image – really beautiful Scott.

    • I had considered a black and white rendition of it, but wanted those colors, as minimal as they are, to be an accent. Thank you, Andy.

  11. It’s beautiful but I’m not ready to see it for real just yet.

    • I can understand that, Allen…but I would love to have some of it again. 🙂

      And thank you, too.
