This looks very much like spring. Are there still pockets like this where earlier conditions persevere?

Late spring down in the valley still equals early spring up in the mountains, or so it always seemed to me. I have seen many photos from that area taken by Facebook and other blog associates, and the area is completely golden or just past, with the leaves having fallen and carpeting the forest floor, while leaving the white trunks and branches bare and awaiting their cover of snow that isn’t far off…..
