mountain home
while in the salt lake valley for the family event and celebration that I mentioned in the last post, i found myself standing in a restaurant parking lot with camera facing east
i heard a young female voice to my left saying “excuse me sir…what are you taking a picture of…?
“is there a bird up there on a lamp post or something…?”
“i’m taking pictures of the mountains,” i said, “aren’t they beautiful?!”
her response….”you must not be from around here”
Sad that. All the years I lived in Colorado, I never tired of looking at the mountains.

Pity that “young female” can be so jaded. I could never stop taking pics of those magnificent snow capped mountain peaks.

Those mountains are gorgeous! I wonder what’s wrong with that gal: I’ve lived in these mountains for over 50 years and I love looking at them every single day!

My guess is that she’s young and has never been away from them…or maybe has never been in them, either. And yes, every single day, Terry. 🙂

Wow, it just never fails to amaze me, how people will not appreciate the beauty in front of them. The photographs are so, so beautiful, Scott. That light! The clouds, the height and majesty. It was one of those parking lot bonus moments!

But they don’t sometimes, Lynn…it’s beyond my grasp, truly. And thank you…it was definitely a parking lot bonus moment!

I love mountains and those mountains I would take pictures of them even if I lived there and saw them every day because even though they are the same they change. Thanks Scott.
