a fence in context

From July 2019…heading north for a hike….

You might remember earlier posts with the images of sunrise through the seed-heads.

To use John Muir’s favorite word, it was “glorious.”

Wildfires earlier this year have turned this into a charred mess…posts and wires strung across a wasteland.

But it will come back…glorious splendor will return…after a season or two of restoration….

  1. Lots of fuel to feed fires . . . gonna repeat, I’m sure, after it comes back . . . as it has for probably multiple thousands of years.

    • I agree…and if I’m not mistaken, it has happened at least one other time in the last 6-10 years….

  2. While the posts and wire still remain… I’m just as glad you didn’t include the charred mess! I’ve surely seen enough of those to suit me.
    Hope you’re keeping well! 😀

    • Yah…I have a couple of that charred mess, but those are for another post…that probably won’t even happen…. And yes, I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of those with your various travels. And we are doing well here, Gunta…thank you. Wishing you the same. 🙂

  3. It will come back – and I imagine if you photographed the charred mess, that would look beautiful, too. I’m sure it would.
I like what you did with the fence moving progressively as each image appears. 🙂 Hope you’re having a good weekend, Scott!

    • I like the sequential shots as well, and it feels good to imagine that expanse of openness again. I’ts been quite a while since I experienced that.

      • And thank you, too, Gary…and yes, there is quite a bit of that expansive openness here in Arizona…it seems to go on forever sometimes.
