    • Thank you, Robyn…it was very nice being there. I hadn’t been to a park like that for years and years. I really like that second shot, too…that place was full of angles and lines and colors and…people. 😉

      • What great memories I have — my heart would race just entering one of these parks – great share 🙂

  7. It looks as if this thing has sprouted up in the middle of a forest, and it looks huge.

    August 18, 2012 at 4:04 pm

    • It is huge, Allen…and those are just huge trees right next to it…smack-dab in the middle of the amusement park…with no forest around. 🙂

  8. #2 is an unusual angle that I like very much! And, of course, the perspective in the last one is impressive with the hugeness of it with the trees! These are real keepers! 🙂

  10. Your shots actually took me to dizzying heights without ever having left the ground. I’m not much for rides so this is a much better way to go. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    • Hello again, Dorann…I’m glad you had a good time on the ride without leaving the ground. 🙂

  15. Super shots Scott. I love the perspective in the middle image. I also like the combination of man-made machines for the purpose of exhilaration and Nature’s own sweet exhilaration in the third image. 🙂

    August 19, 2012 at 11:02 am

    • Thank you, Meanderer. It was one of those shots that couldn’t be ignored when walking beneath the wheel…and yes, Nature provided a beautiful frame in that last shot, too…. 🙂

Excellent compositions. The use of perspective & camera angle has created very effective & dramatic shots.

    • Thank you, Elmediat…I appreciate your comment.

  18. Lagoooooooooooooooooooooooooon! I’m sure it has grown up considerably from the 60’s (yes, I was in grade school in the 60’s and we ALWAYS took a field trip to Lagoon). Oh the memories. You are the best!

    August 20, 2012 at 5:48 pm

    • Yes, Dezra…your beloved Lagoon in Farmington, Utah. I would imagine that it has grown considerably since you were a child, but this was my first visit, so I have no reference. I’m glad the photos brought good memories to mind. 🙂

      • It wasn’t very good back then, but it was the best we had. The Fun House was the best, though. In the 60’s in grade school we were required to wear dresses all the time (if female). We would wear shorts under our skirts so we could hang upside-down on the monkey bars at school, but some girls didn’t for whatever reason. In the Fun House there would be bursts of air from the ground. Skirts would go flying and underwear would show (if the girls didn’t wear shorts). Granny’s NEVER wore shorts under their skirts. When their skirts went flying, they were hilarious! Many took it in stride and laughed about it. I loved the Fun House. They eventually tore it down, though. At one point, they considered closing Lagoon altogether. Instead, they built it up. I haven’t been since before they tore down the Fun House.

        • What interesting memories, Dezra…grannies and little girls and their skirts. 🙂

There is one very old looking roller-coaster still standing and in-use at Lagoon…can’t imagine how old it really is, but it’s still made of wood and the paint is peeling pretty severely…but it’s still being used, so it must be safe.

Based upon what you’ve said, I’m sure you’d be amazed at the place if you visited today.

  19. What a fun series! The perspectives are great. I especially like the second shot: dizzying! 🙂

    August 21, 2012 at 8:11 am

    • Thank you, Melanie…I really enjoy that second one, too…it was fun to stand beneath it and take-in all of those lines and angles.

      August 22, 2012 at 6:34 am

  20. Cool pictures!
